The 2008 Jonas Kreveld Award
Who can I nominate for the Jonas Kreveld Award?
In reviewing the nominations, the Committee's objective is to award the Jonas Kreveld
Award to:
The most deserving Dutch or Australian person with a background in business
who has made, or is making, an outstanding contribution to the Dutch
community in Victoria.
This contribution may take many different forms, including:
- social service and charitable work for the benefit of those of Dutch descent;
- the promotion of cultural ties and the promotion of business relationships
between Australia and The Netherlands.
How do I submit a nomination?
Please use the attached nomination form to fill out details about yourself and the
person you are nominating. We also ask you to give some examples of specific
contribution(s) the nominee has made and how they benefited the Dutch community, or
the community in general. It is important to explain why you feel that the nominee's
achievements deserve special recognition.
When and where should I submit my nomination?
Please send your nomination to the Jonas Kreveld Award Committee, c/o the
Netherlands Chamber of Commerce Australia (NCCA), PO Box 1152, Hampton North,
Vic 3188 as soon as possible but no later than 15 September 2008.
Who will review the nominations and select a winner?
The Jonas Kreveld Award Committee ("the Committee") will meet regularly to consider
all nominations and select a winner. The Committee represents a cross-section of the
Dutch community in Victoria and will review all nominations, where necessary checking
details with referees provided by you. The Committee is chaired by NCCA Board
Member Kees van Duyn and includes representatives from the Netherlands Chamber
of Commerce, the Erasmus Foundation and DutchCare.
Why do I have to provide referees?
We ask you to provide the names and addresses of a minimum of two referees who
are in a position to comment directly on the nominee. This will help the Committee to
verify information and assess which nominee is the most deserving.
Are nominations confidential?
Yes, and it is very important that the person you nominate does not know about it.
What happens next?
Once the Committee has decided on a winner, the recipient of the Award will be
advised of the offer of an award. Nominators are also advised of the outcome of their
nomination. The 2008 Jonas Kreveld Award will be presented at the Orange Ball: “The Dutch Secret” to be held on Friday, 17 October
2008 in Studio 3 at Crown, Southbank.
